Accenture (ACN), a provider of management consulting, technology and outsourcing services, said Wednesday that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Cimation, an affiliate of Audubon Companies and an industrial Internet of Things consulting company known for its work in process automation, information technology and industrial control system cyber security.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The transaction supports the integration of enterprise IT systems and operational technology needed by resources industries to capitalize on opportunities such as automation solutions, production optimization, asset analytics and ICS cyber security. As a result, companies can better maintain, operate and optimize their wells, pipelines, refineries, chemical plants and mines.
Cimation will be integrated into the Accenture Asset and Operations Services group.
Shares were down 1.5% at $107.32 with a 52-week range of $81.66 – $109.86.
